camp

The girls went to gymnastics camp today at our favorite gymnastics place, Mini-hops. We haven't been to Mini-hops since the spring, opting to take the summer off. But when H&M's mom suggested we have the kids attend a camp to get them back into "the routine" we jumped right on it.

The camp was from 9-1 and because the girls have been sleeping so late every morning, it was sort of a challenge to get up and out of the house by 8:30. But they were so ready to go, hoping to see some of their favorite coaches from last year.

And because the camp was 4 hours, I had to send a lunch with them. (I thought I had two little lunch bags, but couldn't find them this morning so they brought one big, and apparently heavy, cooler with both of their lunches).

Both girls were anxious to get there, but not surprisingly, Little Bird held back a little bit. She held my hand the whole time we walked in, but Little Pie took off weaving her way to the front of the line to get in the door first. Little Pie sat right down at the table, told the teachers her name and got right down to business. Little Bird looked around for a while taking it all in, and then happily joined her sister and friends. They waved good bye and I left knowing they were going to have a ton of fun.

After the four hours FLEW by like it was nothing, I picked them up to find them both exhausted. Apparently they had had A LOT of fun. Unfortunately Little Bird had an accident and was wearing a pair of borrowed shorts, but she quietly handed me her plastic bag with her wet ones and both girls proclaimed in loud excited voices all the things they did.

The camp runs all week, but we opted just to go one day. While I think they would enjoy going again, one day was probably good enough for these exhausted little girls.

We are looking forward to starting our regular gymnastics class this fall!
