Yeah, so winter won't quit around here. I continuously obsess over the 10 day forecast only to be continuously disappointed as it seems like it's NEVER going to be 50 degrees.
And today we got punched in the face with a huge snowstorm. It just won't stop.
A few things I've noticed about snow in April...
1. 99% of the Minnesotans that are enjoying it are under the age of 10.
2. It's unsettling to see lighting and hear thunder while watching it snow out the window.
3. Wet, slushy snow is the worst and mini-vans don't do well driving through it.
4. It's strange to build snowmen all the while listening to the birds sing and chirp.
5. Snow on the driveway melts quickly but only makes a big pile of slush at the end.
6. Sisters identify each others' love of snow, Little Bird, now you can go outside and eat more snow!
7. It's all people talk about and post about on FB.
8. Typically one can expect the snow to be gone the next day, but not this year!
9. Winter boots and coats are shrinking. Oh wait, kids are growing.
10. I'm feeling like I somehow slept through summer and we've now just started a new winter season.
But because the girls fall into observation #1, we had to make the most of the snow today.
We played outside for a couple of hours and built an entire kingdom.
It started with a snow family...
Then we had to build a castle for them. Here's my masonry crew...
Let's just say my back is killing me from all the giant bricks I was asked to make.
Little Pie wanted me to move the chair I had initially made, into her new castle.
She declared herself Queen and that everyone is going to want to meet me.
She finished off her royal engagements with a speech to her royal subjects.
After everyone was thoroughly soaked, we declared it a fine April snow day.
