first twins game!

The girls have been pretty lucky in the experiences they have had in their two and half years. This past Saturday was one of those amazing experiences. They got to go to their first Twins game...and see it from one of the suites at Target Field!

Last fall, the Minnesota Special Olympics did a raffle fundraiser where the grand prize was a suite at the Twins game. Well, Papa won! We got 16 tickets so Nana, Papa, Uncle Drew, Boompa, Magra, Gramcracker, Brenda, Eric, Erin, Cody, Katie, Daddy, Mommy, Little Pie, Little Bird, and Uncle Rye all got to have an amazing time!

The girls were really excited to get to the game even though I doubt they knew what they were getting themselves into. They really wanted to find TC Bear when we got to the stadium; it was all they could talk about!

The suite was amazing and the girls immediately decided they were going to sit in the front row. They were having a blast drinking water out of cups, eating chips, and watching TC Bear hit home runs before the game started.

 Everyone was taking in the atmosphere of the suite and excitement of Target Field.

Both girls were having an amazing time before the game started. They were exploring the suite, talking to everyone and looking around for TC Bear. But then, Little Pie got scared. During the National Anthem, she got so frightened by the fireworks ("and the rockets red glare!") that she didn't want to sit down in the seats. She would only stay inside of the suite and Nana had quite the time trying to get her to watch the game.

She tried so hard to convince herself that it wasn't scary, but she just couldn't bring herself to sit out in the seats. The loud cheering, the music and the PA announcer were just too much for her. I did finally convince her to come sit with me towards the end of the game, but she kept her hands over her ears most of the time.

Poor Little Pie!

Little Bird on the other hand was little miss social and could not sit still. She made her way up and down the stairs sitting with this person and then that person. She had a great time!

Everyone had such an amazing time! Too bad the Twins lost it in the 9th inning after being ahead the entire game. We were disappointed but it didn't ruin our experience.
