The weeks that Rob is working out of town, I like to make sure we socialize with friends or family; often. It helps me get through those long weeks because we keep so busy and I get to talk to adults!
This week we have held THREE pool parties in our backyard and it's only Wednesday!
On Monday, Miss E came by and the girls had a blast in our two pools with slides and the water table. (BFF was under the weather otherwise she and Little Buddy would have been there too).

On Tuesday, my good friend Sarah and her girls came to play in the afternoon AND eat supper with us. It was so fun to have them as our kids don't get to see each other much (mostly in the summer when she is off from teaching). The water in the pools was warmer since it had been sitting out all day and all the kids enjoyed sliding in the two pools. Of course the girls really enjoyed the Popsicle break.
I know my girls favorite part about playing in the pools is dumping them when we are done. They love to stomp around in the mushy puddles.
Unfortunately Little Bird had several over the top meltdowns this afternoon. It's so tough when one kid is having a hard time, especially when it's my kid. At least I wasn't too embarrassed being with one of my oldest friends who obviously understands.
She recovered enough to have a pleasant enough dinner on the deck with our friends (so mad I forgot a picture!). It was REALLY nice to have them stay for dinner since that is usually the hardest part of my day when Rob is gone.
This morning it was H&M's turn to come over! Crazily enough it was actually kind of too cool this morning to get in the pools. The kids slid down a couple of times but realized it was too chilly. The water table was used a bit, our little house on the deck was used a bit, but the sand box was the biggest hit!
It's been a great week so far. We have to put the pools away for a few days as the girls seem to be getting a little tired of the whole thing. I guess it's already time for a new favorite!
Also, what is up with kids this age ALWAYS wanting to eat a snack. The mamas just roll their eyes when these kids get together because practically the first thing they want to do together is eat a snack!
