rice krispie treats!

Now that I'm back to feeling like myself after the most annoying flu ever, we were back to our normal excursions. After a morning trip to Target and the library (the girls LOVE the new library), we had a nice relaxing lunch and nap (although nap was kind of short today). This afternoon, I thought it might be fun to introduce the girls to Rice Krispie treats. It was to be our first introduction into helping mommy cook/bake, etc. We got the aprons out and everything! I should have placed a bet on how they would react because I was spot on!
Little Pie loved to pick the spoon up and down (surprise!).

She has no problem looking at something new from a slight distance.

"What is this again?"

Little Bird on the other hand, wasn't that interested.

"I will have no part of this!"

"I know there is a frog on my apron, but the real froggy is over there!"

So after the girls "helped" make the treats, it was time to eat them. And just as I had suspected, neither one of them even touched it! They are just like their dad, sweets are not a big deal!!
Since the treats were a flop, we headed outside to play. Little Bird immediately wanted to head down to the swing. By the time I put her in the swing and came back up onto the deck to get Little Pie, Little Pie had managed to get herself soaked with the rain water left in the water table. Good thing it was a sunny afternoon! As Little Bird swung in her swing, Little Pie voiced her new opinion; apparently she is really into swings now! She never wants to go in the swings at the parks so why would we think we would need to get her a swing for home? Well, I guess whatever Little Bird does, Little Pie wants to do. Just another thing to fight over, right?

After watching daddy mow the lawn from the deck, it was time to head in and take a bath. But not until after some hilarious giggles from two hilarious little girls!
