Delight: This morning we went to visit my BFF at the RP. I got a great pair of shoes (20% off) and found a handbag a literally fell in love with (BFF put it on hold for me to be purchased at a later date). It was so fun to see my BFF. The girls had a great time running around the store (nicely, of course). Little Pie really had a great time saying hi to all of the customers in the store. We were sad my BFF had to work, but we got a chance to play with Little Samster. We met him and his daddy at the arboretum and Little Pie had a GREAT time trying to keep up with him. He is 13 months older so it's fun to see the differences in development and think about the things the girls may be doing a year from now. Little Samster is a great talker and always has something interesting to say. Little Pie was excited to give him a hug goodbye (Little Bird is not into hugging anyone but mommy lately). It was a great morning!
Delight: After nap time the girls and I headed over to Auntie T and Uncle C's house to see them before they took off on their western vacation. I was so impressed because as soon as we pulled into the driveway, Little Bird excitedly started shouting "PUPPY! PUPPY! PUPPY!". I couldn't believe she remembered their dogs because it has been awhile since we have been there and she's not that into dogs in the first place! However, when we got out of the car, she and Little Pie were SO EXCITED to see the puppies!. We went in the house with Auntie T and she brought the puppies inside to play. They loved trying to pet them before they ran away and Little Pie had A BLAST feeding the puppies some goldfish crackers (Little Bird looked on from my arms and laughed hysterically). Both girls were laughing so hard!
Delight: After visiting the puppies we went to the library to get some new books. Little Bird found a new Elmo book to check out. I swear that when she opened up to a page where there was a picture of 2 Elmos she actually said "2 Elmos" and then pointed at each of them. I swear!!! The girls LOVE going to the library. As soon as we pulled into the parking ramp, they said "BOOKS! BOOKS! BOOKS!". They must have my sense of direction to know where they are at all times.
Delight: Little Pie has really become a good counter. We have been working on counting to ten. Lately she follows along with us and then yells "TEN!" at the top of her lungs. Now she really likes to say "8, 9, 10!". Daddy has even showed her how to stack her boxes into a tower and count to ten at the same time. I guess we shouldn't be that surprised that she likes numbers; I mean she is her parents' child!
Dud: The weather was uncooperative today. It was so windy today that when we were outside, the girls could hardly stand on their own two feet. We also had quite the storms around 7 pm tonight. Thankfully nothing was severe. It did, however, remind me of last summer when the tornado sirens went off one night around 9 and we had to get the girls out of bed and go in the basement. They were probably 8 or 9 months old. They thought it was great because we had the TV on watching the coverage of the storm. When it was finally safe to go back upstairs (and back to bed) they were not interested! I remember it took forever before they fell asleep again! Hopefully we don't have one of those this summer.
